Starting a new aquatic therapy practice

Dave Dec 28, 2011 11:14AM CST

We are moving our outpatient site to another location and are considering starting a new aquatherapy program. We have hired an architect and contractor. What other options are available to help us in selecting a manufacturer and what are the costs?

A new pool! We love it when we hear of new holes being put in the ground and are glad you contacted us so early in your process. Even though you may already have a pool building team in place, our experience has been that teams definitely need someone with therapy pool expertise to make it a success. Here are some of the things we recommend to new clients:

Purchase How to Launch manual* $175
Purchase Policy & Procedures manual* $425
Purchase Billing & Practices manual* $77
Phone consult $250/hr
Purchase Facility Membership * $95/yr (includes 1/2hr free consult)
Design team partnership $250/hr ($5000 min. retainer)

*available at www.swimatu.com

While you can employ us in any mixture and manner of the items listed above, I would suggest at a minimum you first order a copy of our How to Launch manual. That will give you a general overview of what is involved in launching an aquatic therapy practice. Then purchase a Facility Membership. That will net you a free 1/2 phone consult where you can get some answers to your bigger questions (e.g. programs, vendors, costs, realistic timelines, etc.). Finally, hire us on an hourly basis whenever you need outside help during your building process.

Hope that helps and good luck with your project!
