Female class and credentialing

Theresa Dec 01, 2011 11:41AM CST

I was looking at the courses for 2012. I have been doing aquatics for over 10 years and have taken classes by you and Peggy. Also other classes as well. I have learned a lot from the both of you with your expertise.. So here are my questions:

The course for the female client is this an advanced class?

The course for Hands on aquatic therapy ortho / neuro... Is this also a advance course?

Which one would you recommend more?

The information you are doing for credentialing is this for only PT's or can it be for PTA's?

I know the course in Ohio is already full, but will you or one of your colleagues be doing another class this year in Ohio or a surrounding state?

If the company I work for would like information on hosting How big of a pool would be needed? Typically how many students do you have in a class?

The Female class is an advanced class. The Ortho/Neuro Survey is a beginning/intermediate class that presents a sampler of aquatic techniques that can be applied to various ortho/neuro diagnoses. We recommend our March 2012 Ortho/Neuro Survey as this comes with a 4.0 hr Aquatic Therapy Boot Camp, both of which are entryways into our Aquaticist(sm) credentialing path. The Boot Camp comes free with the main class if you enroll before Dec 31, 2011. Afterwards it is $99.

As far as our Aquaticist(sm) credentialing goes, it is open to PTs, PTAs, OTs and OTAs only. All other allied health disciplines are eligible for our Aquatic Therapy Professional (ATP) credential.

All our time-tested ATU classes are available for private trainings at your facility. These classes are called polyclinics and can be tweaked to address your specific staff and patient concerns. If your director would like to host a polyclinic, have them visit our website at www.swimatu.com for a list of courses. While we typically cap our classes at 20-25 students (to insure everyone gets the one-on-one hands-on attention we are known for), these are your polyclinics so you are the boss; we will teach your class whether you have one or a hundred students. However, please consider pool space in your calculations. A good rule of thumb is 30sf per student, meaning if you have an 800sf pool, you should be able to comfortably hold 25 students.
