How many can attend polyclinics?

Lindsay Dec 01, 2011 06:12PM CST

We are still in the process of determining what our therapist training will look like this year. I know that you are booked out very far into the future – when does your availability begin?

Also, can you please tell me a little bit more about the training?

· Can it be a one day program?

· What is the maximum # of staff that can attend?

· What is the charge for this?

· Who is the target audience?

When does your availability begin?
Although we are booked most of Spring 2012, we have a few dates that are still open:

May 4
May 18

We are currently working on filling Summer and Fall dates.

If you want an OT or SLP instructor, we will work individually with the instructor to find dates that match.

Can you tell me more about the training?
Here is a link to the course objectives and desciption: http://www.aquatic-therapy-university.com/Polyclinics/Aquatic-Therapy-Polyclinic-for-Cerebral-Palsy-Developmental-Disabilities-the-Medically-Fragile-Patient-p40.html

Can it be a one day program?
You have 3 options.

You can do a 2-day class (16 hours of content)
You can do 2 identical 1-day classes (8 hours of content, repeated to 2 different audiences). This option is used when the pool is too small to fit all your staff, but you want them all to get the exact same information.
You can do 2 different 1-day classes (16 hours of content, taught 8 hours to one group and 8 hours to another). This option is used when the facility wants to tailor the information for different audiences. For instance, Day 1 to PTs and OTs; Day 2 to SLPs.

Unfortunately, we can't come for just 1 day total, but we can do 1-day programs as above.

· What is the maximum # of staff that can attend?
As many as can fit in your pool or (if you want to do it this way) can cycle in/out of your pool. If you have the room for 40 people, and you want all 40 to get trained, we will do it! Just keep in mind that the more students, the less hands-on learning. Aquatic therapy is a kinesthetic, in-water training and it becomes much harder after 25 people.

· What is the charge for this?
$4800 all-included, flat rate. Includes speaker fee for 2 days, handouts, 1 year membership in ATU, online resources, hotel, flight, car rental, food... everything. The only thing not included is external fees like applying for CEUs for PT and OT. We will fill out the applications... we just ask you to cover any fee the state charges.

Who is the target audience?
PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs. SLPs and adapted education instructors (for some material).
